Our Structure

The Federation of Māori Authorities was established twenty five years ago and registered as an Incorporated Society in 1987 as the national advocacy body for Māori Authorities.  The Federation is governed by a Executive Committee comprising 11 members representing the following regions:

11 Rohe

  • Aotea/Taranaki
  • Mataatua
  • Ngāti Tuwharetoa
  • Tainui
  • Tairawhiti
  • Taitokerau
  • Takitimu
  • Te Arawa
  • Te Tau Ihu o Te Waka a Maui
  • Te Upoko o te Ika a Maui
  • Te Wai Pounamu

Each of the 11 rohe, or electoral districts, is represented by one member on the Executive Committee of the Federation of Māori Authorities Inc. See The Executive Committee page for more details.
