Convened by FOMA and the Maori Research Institute Ltd, invite all FOMA landowner members and interested parties to attend a Myrtle Rust information hui to be held in Taupo on Monday 26 June 2017 from 9am – 5pm.
Myrtle Rust is a growing threat to New Zealand’s native flora. As large landowner groups it’s important to understand the significant impact this may have on FOMA members land and commercial interests. Especially those invested in Manuka Honey.
It’s also important for our members to understand the various processes that MPI and DOC follow regarding an outbreak of this nature and scale so that we can make better informed choices and take a proactive approach to protecting and caring for our whenua.
The hui will provide members with the opportunity to get the latest response updates from MPI and to discuss ways in which we as landowners can manage our interest in response to the Myrtle Rust outbreak.
